Terms of use
The rules for using Royals Security, in plain English. By using the site you agree to them.

Who we are
This service is run by AACL. You can reach us through the contact page.
What Royals Security is
Royals Security checks a website for common security problems and explains what it finds. It runs safe, read-only checks on things anyone can see, such as pages, headers and public DNS records.
It is an assessment, not a guarantee. A high score means we didn't find the common problems we check for. It does not mean a website can't be attacked, and it is not a penetration test or a substitute for professional security advice.
Only scan websites you control
You may only scan a website you own or have the right to have tested. Before every scan, and before adding a website to daily monitoring, you tick a box to confirm this and to agree to these terms and our privacy policy. We record each time you do. That confirmation is the only check we make: we do not verify that the website is yours. You are responsible for it being true. Scanning someone else's website without permission is not allowed, and may be against the law where you live. If a website's owner asks us to stop, we stop scanning it and may close the account that added it.
If you run a website and don't want it scanned, you can ask us to exclude your domain. See about our scanner.
Fair use
- Don't use the service to harm, overload or probe websites or networks.
- Don't try to get around the limits on how many scans you can run, or run the service through automated scripts without our agreement.
- Don't try to break into, disrupt or copy the service itself.
We may limit, suspend or close access for anyone who breaks these rules.
Your account
Keep your password to yourself and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account. You can delete it at any time from the account page.
Free and paid plans
The free check is available now and costs nothing. Paid plans with daily monitoring are not open yet. When they open, their prices and terms will be shown before you pay, and you will be able to cancel from your account. Payments will be handled by Paddle, which acts as the merchant of record: it takes the payment, sends the receipt and handles sales tax.
Daily monitoring works the same way. When you add a website to be checked every day, you confirm that you own it or have the right to have it tested, and we record when you did. You must keep that right for as long as the website is monitored. If you sell the website, hand it over or lose that right, remove it from monitoring.
Your reports
The reports for your websites are yours. We keep them so you can see them in your dashboard, as described in our privacy policy.
No warranty
We work to keep Royals Security accurate and available, but we provide it "as is". Scans can miss problems or flag things that turn out to be harmless, and the service may sometimes be unavailable. Check important findings with whoever runs your website before making big changes.
Limits on our responsibility
As far as the law allows, Royals Security is not responsible for losses that result from relying on a report, from a problem a scan did not find, or from the service being unavailable. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have by law as a consumer.
Changes
We may update these terms as the service grows. We'll change the date at the top, and tell account holders by email about significant changes.
